The Lincoln Park After-School Program helps children ages 6 to 10 improve their academic achievement, social interactions and school attendance. Children are transported to the center from their respective schools and provided with educational support, enrichment activities, recreation and cultural opportunities.
The Education for Children & Youth Experiencing Homelessness program facilitates the education of homeless children and youth in nine counties in Region 4, which includes Allegheny, Beaver, Bedford, Fayette, Fulton, Greene, Somerset, Washington and Westmoreland Counties.
Family Support Centers are community-based sites serving families in the Clairton, Duquesne, East Allegheny, Highlands, McKeesport, Penn Hills, Pittsburgh City School, Steel Valley, Sto Rox, West Mifflin and Wilkinsburg school districts. Services include home visits, employment support, developmental assessments and transportation.
The AIU's Fatherhood Initiative is designed to work with and support fathers as they overcome parenting and workplace challenges.
This program is offered to all parents of newborns who reside in the McKeesport Area School District. First Steps provides parental support and information about child development.
Project ELECT assists pregnant and parenting teens in school districts and helps them continue their education while dealing with the challenges of having young children. Teens are encouraged to seek higher education opportunities and develop career goals.
