We are pleased to invite you to “Executive Training Functioning for Students and Parents” on Wednesday, December 4, from 9:00-10:00 am. This virtual Community of Practice meeting will feature Rob Edwards, founder of Elevate Education. Please use this link to join the virtual meeting. All districts are invited to attend. No registration is required.
Elevate Education is the largest provider of executive functioning and SEL workshops for students, parents, and teachers in the US. Elevate is scheduled to begin operations in Pennsylvania schools in January 2025, including Cornell School District (thanks to Project SEEKS SES, a grant-funded partnership between the AIU and Allegheny County Health Department).
Highlights of the Elevate program are:
- Short, sharp presentations that can be neatly fit into a single period and spaced across the school year to avoid the old approach of day-long workshops.
- Critical study & SEL skill areas: including time management, growth mindset, note taking, stress management, collaborative learning and goal setting
- Young, engaging presenters who’ve recently faced and aced middle and high school themselves; presenters who engage and excite, and to whom your students can relate.
- Small, class-sized groups so that the sessions are interactive and hands-on.
- Follow-up resources so that teachers can reinforce new skills in the classroom.
- Data reports: complimentary formative assessments and longitudinal studies to measure rates of change in student confidence, knowledge and use of skills
- Parent and teacher workshops to ensure that everyone is on the same page, and so that the skills can be reviewed at home as well as at school.
This session is part of a series of conversations sponsored by SEEKS that focuses on issues and shared topics of interest that encompass social and emotional wellness and learning.
