About AIU
AIU Perspectives is an online video series showcasing the people behind the programs that make up the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. By telling their stories - showing you how they serve every learner - we hope to inform and enlighten educators, students, and the public.
Each season of AIU Perspectives will consist of four episodes; one season in the fall and one season in the spring. These 15 to 20-minute episodes will feature interviews with AIU employees, facts and figures about the agency, and in-depth profiles of our programs.
Season 1: Fall 2024
- Episode 1: The AIU, Dr. Robert Scherrer, and the Waterfront Early Childhood Classroom
- Episode 2: Sonya Gooden, Teaching and Consultation, and the Pittsburgh Regional DEI Educators Conference

Host/Producer
Dan Rinkus is the Host and Producer of AIU Perspectives and Supervisor of External Accounts for the AIU's Marketing & Strategic Communication Department. He came to the AIU in May of 2022 after working for more than a decade in local television news, most recently at WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh. As an Emmy-winning producer, Dan is always on the hunt for a good story, whether it's for AIU Perspectives or through his communications work for local school districts.
Videographer/Editor
Matt Brosey is the creative force behind the scenes of AIU Perspectives. Whether he's shooting and editing video and audio, creating graphics, or waiting for Dan to remember his lines, Matt keeps AIU Perspectives on track. As a Multimedia Specialist for the AIU, Matt works with internal and external clients to show off their students, educators, programs, and facilities. He has more has more than a decade of experience in creating original, high quality content through video, photography and multimedia production.
