Family Needs & Support

Our family support offerings are designed to provide essential resources that support the growth of healthy families in Allegheny County.

Programs

This program provides a safe and structured place for children of working parents in the Penn Hills area. The after school program assists children in grades K-6 with improving their academic achievement, social interaction skills, and school attendance. Children are transported to the center from their respective schools and provided with educational support, enrichment activities, recreation and cultural opportunities.

Family Support Centers are community-based sites serving families in the Clairton, Duquesne, East Allegheny, Highlands, McKeesport, Penn Hills, Pittsburgh City School, Steel Valley, Sto Rox, West Mifflin and Wilkinsburg school districts. Services include home visits, employment support, developmental assessments and transportation.

The AIU's Fatherhood Initiative is designed to work with and support fathers as they overcome parenting and workplace challenges.

ISAC (Immigrants, Services and Connections)

ISAC is an agency partnership headed by Jewish Family and Community Services (JFCS) and all agencies are experts in serving the growing immigrant community. Partners include Casa San Jose, Literacy Pittsburgh, AIU Family and Immigrant Connections and South Hills Interfaith Movement (SHIM).
